There are no shoulds.

Only Otters.

The Philosophy

It started with a simple observation: there are no "shoulds." There is only what you did, and what you're going to do. The should lives in a gap that doesn't exist. You either did the thing or you didn't. Yoda knew this. There is no try.

Then someone — a very wise someone — pointed out that "should" sounds a lot like "otter." As in: I ought-er have done that. But here's the thing. There are no oughts either. Do you know what there are?

There are otters.

The Deeper Truth

Once you sit with that for a moment, a question naturally arises: what if everything is otters? What if we are living inside an otter dream — a vast, whiskered, river-sliding simulation? What if the universe looked at itself one day and thought: you know what would be better? Otters.

We are not here to tell you what to believe. We are here to tell you there are otters. What you do with that information is between you and the otters.

The Brand

Only Otters is a lifestyle brand in the same way that enlightenment is a lifestyle. Technically serious. Practically very silly. We make things — shirts, totes, eventually other things — that carry the message forward. The message being: relax. You're in an otter dream. It's fine.

We are not a cult. We want to be very clear about that. There are no robes, no initiation rituals, no mandatory river frolicking. When you make a purchase you will be asked to acknowledge that there are only otters, but that's really more of a legal thing.

Why didn't Siddhartha tell us?

We've thought about this a lot. Our current theory is that he felt you should find the otters on your own. Here at Only Otters, we respectfully disagree. We believe in telling it like it is. There are otters. You're welcome.

Is this serious?

Only Otters is meant to be not serious. That is the most serious thing about it. This definitely wasn't written by ai.
